Get Out & Play on the Trails & Paths

Horses, ATVs and snowmobiles belong here!

Gary Pines: The city has completed six miles of trails including an art installation of chainsaw carved statues found along the trails in the 160 city-owned acres of the Gary Pines.. www.GaryPines.com

Crop Checker?

For crop-checkers, whether you are in your pickup, on foot or horseback, there are miles and miles of solitary country roads to enjoy the wildlife, listen to the sounds and check on the "condition of the crops."

Enjoy hiking, biking or walking?

You will love Gary. Walk in town on our newly paved roads - be warned though, you will be stopped many times to have a "nice chat", invited in for coffee or offered a ride! You may want to take a nature hike down the Agassiz Recreational trail (ART), which runs along the west side of town.

Get Out, Fish & Hunt
Like the outdoors/sportsman's life? You will love Gary. Deer, Turkey, Bears and more are abundant for hunters. Deer hunting season is a local holiday where generations converge on the city, hunt all day, enjoy the deer hunters dance on the weekend and take time to catch up with old friends and family.
Like to fish? The Wild Rice River is five miles south of town or enjoy any of the many lakes within a 20 minute drive from Gary.
