Gary is located on the east side of Norman County in Northwest Minnesota on State Highway 32 between Twin Valley and Fertile at the County Highway 19 crossing.
Most things are available at local shops, but if not, Amazon delivers! But in general, take a short drive to get to wherever, or purchase whatever you need.

County Seat, Ada on Hwy 9 & 200

Located in Ada is the hospital, extended care, shops, radio station, movie theater, restaurants, events center, eye care, dental care, office supplies, Norman County Historical Genealogical Society, Norman County Fair Grounds and Raceway, Heart of the Valley Golf Course, auto and implement dealers, an extensive recreational/workout/pool center - the Dekko Center and more. Many retail jobs are available here and a small craft airport is available for those who need it.

Crookston on Hwy 2
• Gary is located 36 miles (40 minutes)  southeast of Crookston
Located in this area are the dynamic U of M Crookston and the U of M Extension working with rural areas to build a stronger Minnesota. A major employer in the city is Newflyer of America bus building division and Crystal Sugar. Overall, Crookston is a fun college town with shops, medical centers, restaurants and entertainment.

Detroit Lakes on Hwy 94
• Gary is located 55 miles from Detroit Lakes - it is lake country for those who love to swim, fish, enjoy a day on the water or snow ski. If you are looking for a "beach day" - this is it with beachside bars, cafe's, hotels and more! It is also the home of the annual WeFest Country Music Festival, golf and Detroit Mountain Recreation Area.

• Gary is 57 miles (1 hour, 5 minutes) from Moorhead, MN / Fargo, ND area. Home of Hector International Airport (FAR).
Located in this area are major medical centers and facilities for all types of healthcare needs. It is a hub of affordabel higher education including NDSU Bison football team, Moorhead State University, Concordia College and more. It is a center of activity for entertainment, arts, sporting events and concerts.
