Shock & Awe youth philanthropy
Who trust students with the future of our region? We do.
Gary Cares manages the grant funding for Shock & Awe youth philanthropy in Norman County.
Students from NCE, NCW and Ada-Borup gather monthly during the school year to meet, discuss their vision for the county, process grant requests and plan community activities.
Gary Cares is working with the city of Gary, the Gary Lions and individuals interested in sustaining the forest to establish trails, a memorial fores, a chainsaw art walk and a natural play space in the Gary Pines.
The forest is a 160 acre property located on Highway 32 and 260th Ave. northwest of Gary. The land is owned by the city of Gary. Go to www.GaryPines.com for more.

WHAT WE DO?
As a community foundation, Gary Care's mission is very broad: to improve the quality of life in Gary and our surrounding area.
This breadth of our mission reflects our ability to make grants in any field of interest with a charitable benefit to our communities.
This flexibility allows us to serve a wider group of potential donors on the one hand and, on the other, a wider group of nonprofit organizations whom we consider our partners in improving local communities.
